Denverton Fire Latest: Maps, evacuations, size, road closures [Video]

SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. — Firefighters stopped forward progress on a grass fire in Solano County burning near Travis Air Force Base Tuesday. 

The Denverton Fire sparked in the area of Denverton and Creed roads near Suisun City Tuesday afternoon, according to the Solano County Office of Emergency Services. The fire burned between Travis Air Force Base and Suisun City, and near Highway 12. 

Forward progress was stopped around 2:30 p.m. at roughly 470 acres, according to officials. Highway 12 has reopened after being closed so fire crews could handle the fire. 

No evacuation warnings were issued due to the fire burning in rural Solano County.
