Lenexa roadway reopened after medical issue causes serious collision [Video]

LENEXA, Kan. (KCTV) – Police believe a medical issue led to a serious collision in Lenexa that closed a busy road and sent an elderly woman to the hospital.

The Lenexa Police Department says that around 2 p.m. emergency crews were called to the 8100 block of Pflumm Rd., near Post Oak Trail, with reports of a single-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found an elderly female driver had hit several light poles as her vehicle veered off the road. She was extricated by the Lenexa Fire Department and taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Due to the extensive and serious nature of the collision, crews closed the road through the area. Pflumm Rd. between 80th Terrace and 82nd St. remained closed as crews investigated.

Around 4:30 p.m., Lenexa Police indicated that a medical issue is believed to have led to the collision. The driver is expected to recover …
