ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Wednesday marks a First Alert Weather Day as a large system swept in from the west, causing heavy rain and storms. A line of rain moved through the storms followed by heavy winds, knocking out power to more than 60,000 people in metro Atlanta.
The showers started to push into downtown Atlanta between 7 to 9 p.m., lasting until 8 a.m. Thursday.
