Midtown businesses impacted by massive water main break re-open, others working to recover [Video]

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The boil water notice in Atlanta has officially been lifted.

The five-day water emergency has taken a toll on businesses throughout the city.

The Steam House Lounge off W. Peachtree and 11th Street was directly impacted.

Owner Sam Weyman said he was planning a soft re-open but decided to go all in.

“We didn’t think we would get opened today. We had everybody coming in, we had them in here anyway and said what the hell open the ground floor,” Weyman said.

Weyman said the time it took to fix the water main was devastating for business.

“Sure took a long time. That was Friday afternoon. Now this is Thursday (at) noon. That’s almost a whole week without business, we haven’t done that in 36 years. Been closed a week,” Weyman said.

Customers filled the restaurant during lunch hour on Thursday. Patrons are happy …
