RMC Health System moving forward with plans to integrate RMC Anniston and Stringfellow Campus [Video]

ANNISTON, Ala. (WBRC) – Officials at RMC Health System have said they’re making good progress and are excited to strengthen their health system and offer more healthcare options.

Earlier this year, Stringfellow and Regional Medical Center announced they will integrate and become one institution.

RMC President and CEO Louis Bass says the purpose of the integration is to put patients first and make sure they have access to the care they need.

One of those transitions will involve closing the Emergency Department at Stringfellow and turning it into an urgent care facility while enhancing the Emergency Department at RMC Anniston.

“We will be able to transition the emergency room physician staff that’s at Stringfellow today, down to RMC and that will allow us to provide additional physician coverage during peak hours throughout the day. We believe that will be a big benefit to us, but our staff is working very hard,” said Bass.
