The 6th annual ‘Swing For Hope Couples Golf Tournament’ took place Sunday morning over at the Black Creek Golf Club.
The event is a fundraiser for the Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center.
We spoke with Elizabeth Myers, the Executive Director of the center and Janet Boehm-Horton who is the board chair for the center and the granddaughter of Dr. Walter E. Boehm, who was a neurosurgeon and founded the center in the 1960’s.
Around 70 years later the center continues to provide free services to families with children born with birth defects of the brain and spinal cord.
In the 6 years that the golf tournament has been around the center has raised over $300,000.
