Court to decide if 12-year-old accused of killing mother faces adult charges [Video]

Court proceedings resume Tuesday in the case of a 10-year-old Milwaukee boy who allegedly shot and killed his mother over a virtual reality headset. The severity of the charge led to automatic initial processing in adult court. The defense is making efforts to transfer his first-degree intentional homicide charge from adult court to the juvenile justice system. The reverse waiver hearing is expected to last three days.On Tuesday, a psychologist who evaluated the suspect testified. Karyn Gust-Brey, the psychologist, said the suspect’s evaluation showed mild anxiety, mild psychotic symptoms and mild disruptive behaviors. Otherwise, the suspect was psychologically sound.Also on Tuesday, the defense request more time to present its case.
