Expert witness says alleged shooter at Teddys Sports Grill was coerced into confession by police [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Timothy Huante, 47, is accused of shooting and killing Dallas Quick Bear at the now-closed Teddy’s Sports Grill in February 2022.

Despite initially confessing to police, Huante pled not guilty and is scheduled for a jury trial July 29. At an evidentiary hearing Friday, a forensic psychiatrist testified on Huante’s behalf and claimed Huante was coerced into a confession by interrogators.

Huante’s attorney says he was black-out drunk on the night of the shooting and has no recollection of what happened. Dr. Stephen Manlove, a forensic psychiatrist who has appeared in court as an expert witness over 100 times, says he reviewed the footage of three police interviews with Huante following the shooting.
