Former Browns, Washington player receives heart transplant [Video]

TAMPA, Florida — Former NFL and Cleveland Browns fullback and tight end Mike Sellers is back home weeks after receiving a life-saving heart transplant.

Sellers, 48, was discharged from Tampa General Hospital’s Transplant Institute last week after undergoing a heart transplant procedure April 15. The NFL veteran spent four months at TGH and received an enthusiastic send-off from hospital staff, family and friends upon being discharged.

“Everybody, thank you so much for these past four months,” Sellers’ wife, Jane, told hospital staff while tearing up. “I appreciate everything that you guys have done. Countless nights, just making sure he’s OK. I so appreciate you. You guys are now a part of our family. Please don’t ever hesitate to call us. If you ever need anything, I’m here.”
