SAGINAW, MI — After skipping his armed robbery trial months ago, a Saginaw man is back in custody after engaging in a standoff with police. While no gunshots were fired, the suspect suffered a bite from a police K-9.
Around 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team attempted to serve an arrest warrant on 56-year-old Dwayne K. Smith at his home in the 700 block of Munson Court. Smith had barricaded himself inside and would not come out.
